Famous Puppet Death Scenes

Forgive me puppets.

I’ve underestimated you.

I’ve always been creeped out by you, or have considered you worthy only of snickers.

Perhaps I’ve been a wee bit narrow minded.

I’ve just returned from Famous Puppet Death Scenes at The Young Centre for the Performing Arts, and you amazed me, you strange troupe of surreal puppets, you really did. That was some raw emotion and talent you displayed. I was disturbed and frightened and had some laughs (but not at your expense. Well, I guess at your expense, you were getting killed and all, but I didn’t laugh in a campy ironic way, I promise.) You showed me, didn’t you? I was moved. Genuinely moved. By puppets.

Please try not to take it personally if I hope to never meet any of you. I still find your ilk creepy. I don’t think that’ll ever change. Sorry. But I appreciate what you did. Truly.
